Privacy Policy

Bhaktise (“we”, “our”, “us”) publishes devotional content — stotras, namavalis, bhajans — and a Hindu calendar (panchanga, festivals, vrathas and eclipses) onwww.bhaktise.com and in the Bhaktise apps for iOS and Android. This policy explains what we collect, why, where it is stored, and how you can delete it.

In short: you can read everything without an account. The panchanga is calculated on your own device, and your location is never sent to us. If you sign in, we store only what is needed to run your account, and you can delete your account at any time from inside the app.

2.1 Account information (only if you sign in)

You can sign in with Google or Apple. We receive and store your name, your email address (with Apple’s “Hide My Email”, a private relay address) and your profile picture if the provider shares one. We also keep a user ID that links your account to what you save.

2.2 Content you create

On the website, if you are signed in: comments, ratings, and questions you ask the “Ask AI” feature, together with the answers.

2.3 Location — processed on your device, not collected

The panchanga, sunrise and sunset, Rahu kala, festival dates and eclipse visibility depend on your city. You can search for a city, or tap “Use my current location”.

• The app asks for location permission only when you tap that button. The permission is “while using the app” and approximate. We never use background location.
• The coordinates are rounded to about 1 km, matched to the nearest city, and saved only on your device. They are not sent to our servers. All calculations happen on the device.
• On the website, the city you choose is stored in your browser.

2.4 Notifications

• Festival and vratha reminders that you set are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent through our servers.
• Stotra updates: if you turn these on, we store your device’s push token (from Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging), the platform and your language, so that we can send the notifications. Turning them off, or deleting your account, removes the token.

2.5 Website analytics

The website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages are used. It may set cookies and collect your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view. Bhaktise shows no advertising.

2.6 Technical logs

Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, request time, URL) for security and reliability.

• Location (optional, approximate, while using the app): only to find your city for the panchanga. You can always search for a city instead.
• Notifications (optional): for the reminders you set, and stotra updates if you turn them on.
• The apps do not use the camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files, and do not run in the background.

The apps and the website keep these on your device only:

• Language, appearance, text size and calendar settings
• Your chosen city, and its rounded coordinates if you used your location
• Saved stotras, recent reading and the in-app notification inbox
• Your reminder choices and cached calendar calculations
• Sign-in tokens, kept in the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore

Uninstalling the app, or clearing your browser data, removes them.

• To provide your account, saved content, comments and ratings
• To answer “Ask AI” questions and show your history
• To send the notifications you asked for
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse
• To improve the website, using aggregate analytics
• To comply with the law

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use app data for tracking or profiling.

We use these processors to run Bhaktise. They handle data only on our behalf:

• Supabase: account database and authentication
• Vercel: website and API hosting
• Google and Apple: sign-in; push delivery through FCM and APNs
• Google Gemini: generates “Ask AI” answers from the question you type
• Google Analytics: website only
• YouTube: embedded devotional videos, subject to Google’s privacy policy

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or as part of a merger or transfer of the service, with notice to you.

We keep account data only while your account exists.

• In the app: Profile → Delete account → “Delete my account permanently”. After you sign in again to confirm, the deletion is immediate. It removes your sign-in account, profile, comments, ratings, Ask AI history and push tokens from our live systems. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also revokeBhaktise’s access at Apple. The app then clears saved items and reminders on that device.
• Without the app: use the account deletion page. We verify that the account is yours and complete the deletion within 7 days.
• Backups: deleted data leaves our encrypted database backups within 30 days.
• Logs: server logs are deleted within 30 days. Google Analytics data for the website is kept for 14 months, and is not linked to your account.
• We may keep a record only where the law requires it, for example to answer a legal request.

Subject to applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the GDPR where it applies), you can ask to access, correct or delete your data. You can withdraw consent for location or notifications at any time in your device settings, and you can complain to a data protection authority. Write to support@bhaktise.com. We reply within 30 days.

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens on phones are kept in secure hardware-backed storage. Database access is restricted and scoped to each user.

Bhaktise is for a general audience. Signing in is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age in your country. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

When we change this policy, we update the date above. If a change is significant, we also show a notice in the app or on the website.
